Amidst the Northern hemisphere’s snow-blanketed winter, TUDOR unveils a brand-new Black Bay Chrono with a summery refreshing “Flamingo Blue” dial – exuding the vibrancy of South Beach, Miami, where the sun is shining and everyday is beach day!

As of January 2025, an Arctic polar vortex has engulfed parts of Europe, Asia, and North America in the icy embrace, with temperatures pushing – 40 degrees Celsius rendering life being frozen in time. Contrasting this Tundra world and breaking convention, TUDOR’s new Black Bay Chrono makes a refreshing tropical splash with a brand-new “Flamingo Blue” dial. ‘Flamingo’ and ‘Blue’? Last time I watched the National Geographic channel, this long-legged beach bird was pink – coincidently, they’re the same hue as last summer’s TUDOR Black Bay Chrono ‘Pink’, which also nods to TUDOR’s partnership with Inter Miami CF as official timekeeper. TUDOR’s “Flamingo Blue” is inspired by the native bird’s tropical and social habitat: clear blue/turquoise waters.
Audaciously contrasting, this watch is for those who dare to be different. Fusing TUDOR’s heritage of manufacturing professional divers’ watches with their passion for the racetrack, the Black Bay Chrono is the quintessential sports chronograph. Right since 1954, TUDOR has been refining their divers’ watches which’ve served worldwide militaries in combat missions yet enjoyed by civilian watch enthusiasts. TUDOR found a new pursuit with the 1970 Oysterdate, channeling its technical brilliance to the world of motorsports.
The TUDOR Black Bay Chrono “Flamingo Blue” doubles down its pink sibling’s dose of Miami vibrancy, coincidently matching its dial hue with Inter Miami CF’s away kit in the Major League Soccer. Co-owner and TUDOR ambassador David Beckham was spotted wearing the “Flamingo Blue” edition against the summery backdrop of South Beach, Miami.

While the new dial colour is a completely new look for the Black Bay Chronos, it retains its core elements. Featuring a 41-millimetre case that’s 14.4 millimetres thick and is crafted out of 316L Stainless Steel. With satin-brushed finishing on top and polished accents on its sides, it boasts a closed caseback, offering 200 metres of water resistance. As a Black Bay Chrono signature, the fixed tachymeter bezel/scale boasts a black anodized aluminium base and silver engravings. The Flamingo Blue dial features black double-register chronograph counters and a date window at six o’clock, resting under a domed sapphire crystal. In classic TUDOR style, we see Snowflake hands and circular hour indexes that are laced in white Super-Luminova.

Inside, resides the high-performance automatic calibre MT5813 which uses a column balance wheel, bidirectional rotor system and vertical clutch chronograph function. Like all TUDOR calibres, this too is certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), with its performance exceeding the standards set by this independent institute. It offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hour. The timepiece is paired with a five-link 316L stainless steel bracelet which employs a T-Fit clasp for micro-adjustment.
The TUDOR Black Bay Chrono “Flamingo Blue” (Ref. M79360N-0024) which embraces the vibrant hues of South Beach, Miami, is the quintessential sports chronograph that fuses the maisons diving and motorsport heritage. The model is not a limited edition, but it is a special edition.
